Privacy Policy
SowJournal is a garden calendar for home growers: climate-adjusted sow / plant / harvest guidance, seed stash, planner, and optional packet scans. It is not affiliated with any seed brand.
Short version: your garden lives on your phone. We don’t run a SowJournal account system, we don’t sell crop data, and we don’t sprinkle ad trackers on your tomatoes. The journal stays in your pocket — next to the seed crumbs.
Data on your device
- Garden location, favorites, notes, seed stash and planner
- Scan caches and settings
- Optional OpenAI API key (if you add one)
Deleting the app removes this data.
Data we send (only when you use a feature)
- Weather (optional) — coordinates to OpenWeather; not stored by us
- Barcode lookup — EAN to Open Food Facts when no local match
- AI images (optional) — crop name to OpenAI with your own key
- Purchases — Apple processes the one-time Plus unlock; we only see Plus status
- No advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics trackers
What we never do
We do not sell personal data, require an account, track you across apps, or upload your photos to our servers.
Your choices
- Turn off optional weather or skip barcode / AI features
- Revoke camera or location access in iOS Settings
- Restore Plus from Settings if you reinstall
- Uninstall the app to remove all on-device data
